Sushi Alert! 3 New Sushi Variants from ROKU
Ah yes, ROKU Sushi & Ramen, an affordable Japanese restaurant along Katipunan that I regularly visit. And when I say "regular" as in "the owner knows me" type of regular. I dunno, I just can't get enough of their sushi. I went there recently and met their latest sushi additions. Ladies and gentlemen, please meet:
Ebi Gyoza. Okay, Ebi Gyoza is not sushi but I included it here because it was freaking delicious. It is shrimp-filled gyoza a.k.a. perfection in one bite.
Aburi Roll. Aburi roll is a tempura-filled sushi topped with salmon and aburi sauce. A great solo sushi meal, best devoured with beer.
Okonomiyaki Roll-- a sweet tamago-topped sushi "sprinkled" with bonito. It's just like a deconstructed Okonomiyaki. Best eaten as a finale to your sushi line-up, just like dessert.
Last but not the least, Sailboat Roll. It is called as such because of the sweet triangle wanton pierced on top of the spicy tuna. ROKU has a knack for spicy dishes so you can add this their list of best spicy sushi.
Also, I've got chismis/news! ROKU will be opening their second branch in Trinoma this June. Aaaand they will be opening a pop-up resto in SM Aura, not ROKU but something quite like it. It will happen this May so watch-out for that!
Kuripot Tip: order dishes to share. 2 sushis + 1 Roku Ramen is a good combo for dates.
